A Death In The Family

My tablet died. Right now I’m working through the grieving process. (He was so young!!!) But I think I’m going to make it.

Actually, I think this is a good opportunity for me to get back to basics. It’s been a long time since I bothered with good ol’ pencil and paper. Tablets make things a lot easier in a lot of ways, but they also lack some of the heart and soul of graphite and charcoal. Working with pencil again has sorta been a wake-up call. As galling as it is to admit it, my drawing skills have backslid a bit.

Of course, this means color is going to be lacking from my work from here on out. I have neither skill nor inclination to color by hand. Maybe I’ll bully Sapph0 in to coloring shit for me. (Sapph, baby, if you’re reading this- you know you want to.)

Also? New design. I kind of like it. Anything is better than that wretched green thing I had going on.

Thanks for the fave...gee I thought you hated that story! You know, words cannot adequately express how amazing it is to see these ephemeral ideas that have been floating around in my head for months suddenly show up in physical form! It just does...things...to me; we'll leave it at that. :drool:

I confess, it's a bit (read: very) nerve-wracking for me to try and do another's idea justice (especially ideas as yummy as yours). It's good for me; I push myself when I would otherwise throw in the towel and say 'good enough.' But there's always that moment of 'oh god, what if she hates it?' But if you are pleased, then I am content. :blush:
